The Second Summer Camp Human Rights for law students took place in Bad Liebenzell, Germany from July 29 th till  August 10 th, 2006. 30 students of law faculties from different Byelorussian universities became the camp participants.
The organizers of the camp and accepting party were two German organizations European Exchange and the Centre of Youth Political Education.  The great support had been provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany. The special educational program developed for law students by the experts from different countries consists of the next topic:

• Philosophy and basic notions of human rights
•  Human rights in local legislation
• International mechanisms of human rights protection
  European system of human rights protection
• The UN system and mechanisms of human rights protectio
•  Liability and mechanisms of OSCE for human rights protection
• Rights to Fair Trial. Access to Justice. Right to legal aid
• Freedom of associations. Freedom of assembly
• Public Interest Actions
• Sources of legal information.

As a part of theoretical course on European system of human rights protection the participants of the Summer Camp visited the European Court of Human Rights and Council of Europe (Strasburg).  The participants met with legal referent of European Court of Human Rights Olga Bobrova and an official of European Commission for democracy through law (Venice commission) Sergey Kuznetsov who talked about mentioned organizations activity and answered a lot of questions of the law students.  

Also using the Open Space technique the participants had an opportunity to express their thoughts and to exchange ideas about future activity for public interests protection. The number of applications, the students’ interest, their activity during the studies, the issues touched during discussions let us verify great interest in human rights and problems of their realization in other countries including Belarus.
