UN Human Rights Committee considered several communications submitted by citizens of the Republic of Belarus in connection with violations of freedom of association in the Republic of Belarus in November 2006. The Committee declared violations of freedom of association committed by the Republic of Belarus and we hope that it is a beginning of recognition of groundless and inadmissible oppression of freedom of association in the Republic of Belarus.

Under international obligation the views of UN Human Rights Committee must be fulfilled within short period of time. It means that the legal status of Gomel Region Public Association "Civil Initiatives" must be restored and Republican Human Rights Public Association "Helsinki-ХХI" must be registered soon. The information about the reaction of Byelorussian authorities and execution of UN Human Rights Committee recommendations will be announced.
