Annually on December 10, celebrating the day of Human Rights, Foundation for Legal Technologies Development conducts a Law Essay Competition.

This competition is directed towards encouraging independent research within the field of human rights and institutions of human rights protection in Belarus.

Participants of the Competition are law students of higher educational institutions, students of master’s courses and postgraduate students, teachers of law and political science of law faculties of universities.

The Competition will gather independently performed creative works on the role, functions and purpose of law, members of legal community and legal institutions within the sphere of public interests protection. Essays may also be devoted to the problems of realization of individual rights and freedoms. The topic of the essay may be defined individually. It is important that the topic coincides with the general idea of the Competition.

The works will be evaluated by an Expert committee comprised of representatives of international and national human rights organizations, members of academic society, in accordance with criteria developed for the competition.

Essays submitted will be evaluated separately according to 4 categories: students of bachelor’s, master’s degree, postgraduate students and teachers of law and political science.

Awarded essays and best works will be published at the webpage of Foundation for Legal Technologies Development.
Essay for a competition should be submitted in Russian or Belarusian and sent in an e-format.

The winners and nominees of the Essay Competition are awarded certain preferences: participation in educational programs supported by the Foundation for Legal Technologies Development, membership in the youth law club, references for participation in international programs and activities, study visits, internships, etc.
