Annually, Foundation for Legal Technologies Development in cooperation with various international organizations conducts an International meeting dedicated to the topic of legal protection of public interests.

Participants of the International meeting are law students from different higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus: members of universities’ law clinics, authors of term and diploma papers on the topic of law who are motivated to improve their knowledge in the sphere of legal protection of public interests, alumni of programs run by Foundation for Legal Technologies Development (Summer Camp un Human Rights for Law students, Law essay competition, etc.), volunteers from various NGOs, other interested parties.
Participation is also open to teachers and postgraduates of law departments of higher educational institutions of Belarus.

The International meeting is comprised of public lectures.
Experts, lecturers, public figures who are significantly experienced in professional and research field in the sphere of legal defense of public interests are invited as speakers at the public lectures.

Thus, during the International meeting 2005-2006 "Public Interest Law", invited lecturers were Mr. Edwin Rekosh, professor of law and Executive Director of the Public Interest Law Initiative of  Law School of the Colombian University, Mr. Dmitry Shabelnikov, coordinator of the Russian program Public Interests Law Initiative (Moscow), Mr. Ilya Shevchenko, member of the Fund for development of the clinical legal education Board (Saint Petersburg) and Senior manager of Legal Institute of Krasnoyarsk State University legal.

International meeting 2006-2007 was devoted to the role of institution of Plenipotentiary on Human Rights within the system of legal protection of public interests. Public speakers during this meeting were Mr. Mats Melin, Swedish Parliamentary Ombudsman, Mr. Adam Zelinsky, ex-Plenipotentiary on Civil Rights in Poland and Mr. Vladimir Tambovtsev, Head of State Security Department on Human Rights of the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.

Public lectures given during international meetings provide a great opportunity for participants to acquire new knowledge in the sphere of legal protection of public interests, they improve the level of research activity of law students, promote framing of civil attitude towards formation of a constitutional state in Belarus and the role of lawyers and legal experts in the modern society.
